We present an in-depth investigation of cyclodextrin complexes with guest compounds featuring complexation-induced room temperature phosphorescence (RTP) in aqueous solution. Very interestingly, only the complexed regioisomers bearing lateral substituents on meta-position show RTP, whereas the stronger host-guest systems with para-substituted dyes show no RTP features. The reported systems were investigated regarding their complexation behavior in water using isothermal titration calorimetry and mass spectrometry. In the case of γ-CD very strong 1 : 1 inclusion complexes (Ka up to 5.13×105 M−1) were unexpectedly observed. It was found that not only a strong binding to the cyclodextrin cavity is needed to restrict motion, inducing the emission, but also the conformation inside the cavity plays a pivotal role – as supported by an extensive NMR study and MD simulations. 相似文献

The aim of this study was to develop a titanium tetrafluoride (TiF(4)) varnish and evaluate the stability of the formulation and its reactivity with dental enamel. The varnish was prepared in a resinous matrix using ethanol 96% as solvent. Samples (n=45) were aged at 65 degrees C and 30% of relativity humidity (RE n degrees 01/05-ANVISA) and after 3, 6, 9 and 12 months, nine samples were removed for evaluation and compared with fresh samples. Chemical stability of TiF(4) varnish was determinate by (19)F-NMR and the reactivity of the formulation was quantified by formation of fluoride loosely (CaF(2)) and firmly bound (fluorapatite; FA) to enamel. For reactivity comparisons, a varnish without TiF(4) was used as control. The loss of soluble fluoride was about 0.9% after one year of storage. The values of the reactivity (mean+/-S.D.) of fresh, aged at 3, 6, 9 and 12 months and control samples were: CaF(2) (microg F/mm(2)): 89.3+/-27.5(a); 54.5+/-14.3(b); 51.2+/-29.8(b); 69.3+/-21.3(a); 48.0+/-27.4(b); 0.10+/-0.07(c), FA (microg F/g): 2477.5+/-1044.0(a); 2484.8+/-992.0(a); 2580.0+/-1383.9(a); 2517.2+/-929.9(a); 2121.0+/-1059.2(a); 330.0+/-180.0(b), respectively. Means followed by distinct letters were statistically different (p<0.05). After one year of storage, the formulation was chemically stable and the levels of FA were maintained. Control over the integrative self-sorting of metallo-supramolecular assemblies opens up possibilities for introducing increased complexity and function into a single self-assembled architecture. Herein, the relationship between the geometry of three ligand components and morphology of three self-sorted heteroleptic [Pd2 L 2 L ′2]4+ cages is examined. Pd-mediated assembly of two bis-monodentate pyridyl ligands with native bite angles of 75° and 120° affords a cis-[Pd2 L 2 L ′2]4+ cage while the same reaction with two ligands with bite angles of 75° and 60° gives an unprecedented, self-penetrating structural motif; a trans-[Pd2(anti- L )2 L ′2]4+ heteroleptic cage with a “doubly bridged figure eight” topology. Each heteroleptic assembly can be formed by cage-to-cage conversion of the homoleptic precursors and morphological control of [Pd2 L 2 L ′2] cages is achieved by selective ligand displacement transformations in a system of three ligands and at least six possible cage products. 相似文献

Nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) is a fatty liver disorder that could be improved with extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) supplementation in diet. We propose the monitoring, in whole mouse liver extracts and in isolated mitochondria, of the absorption of compounds from three different diets: standard (CT), high‐fat (HFD) and high‐fat supplemented with EVOO (HFSO). Male mice were submitted to one of the following three diets: CT or HFD for 16 weeks or HFD for 8 weeks followed by additional 8 weeks with HFSO. Following this period, liver was extracted for histological evaluation, mitochondria isolation and mass spectrometry analyses. Diets, liver extracts and Percoll‐purified mitochondria were analyzed using ESI‐MS and the lipidomics approach. Morphological, histological and spectrometric results indicated a decrease in NASH severity with EVOO supplementation in comparison with animals maintained with HFD. Spectrometric data also demonstrated that some compounds presented on the diets are absorbed by the mitochondria. EVOO was shown to be a potential therapeutic alternative in food for NASH. Our results are in accordance with the proposition that the major factor that influences different responses to diets is their composition – and not only calories – especially when it comes to studies on obesity.
